Velney Development
Josu’e Velney is the Owner/CEO of Velney Development LLC, a VBE & MBE-certified real estate development company based in Somerville, MA. He is responsible for conducting feasibility analysis, financial modeling, and acquisitions. He currently oversees residential projects ranging from 1 to 230 units, with projects ranging from $1M to $120M. Josu’e also serves as the Owner/Construction Manager of Velney Construction LLC, ensuring quality control, workplace safety, and subcontractor selection.

Before his entrepreneurial ventures, Josu’e served as a Lieutenant/EMT for the City of Somerville Fire Department and in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors. Josu’e received Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Alumni Entrepreneurship Award in 2023, was recognized in Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and received Governor’s Citation Recognition in 2022.

Born in Colombia, Lorena Rodriguez is a dynamic and highly skilled Executive Assistant with a wealth of experience managing complex projects, coordinating logistics, and providing exceptional administrative support. Renowned for her ability to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency, she has consistently delivered outstanding results in high-pressure
environments.

Her expertise includes travel arrangements, project coordination, client communications, and multitasking with a keen eye for detail.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, she excels in problem-solving and time management, ensuring the seamless execution of executive responsibilities. Currently serving as Velney’s
Executive Assistant, she is committed to fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service, contributing to the organization’s overall success. Her proactive approach and dedication to excellence have earned her a reputation as a reliable and efficient professional in the field of executive assistance.
Executive Office Manager
Jennifer Camacho was born in Puerto Rico, where her passion for real estate started while working on the family farm. She moved to the United States when she was young and finished her high school education. With hard work and dedication, she purchased her first home in 2011 and became more interested in real estate and interior design. Jennifer’s goals are to grow her real estate portfolio and continue to learn the many aspects of real estate sales, management, and development.

Jennifer specializes in accounting, property management, and paralegal work. She consistently demonstrates enthusiasm to learn and help as much as possible. Jennifer loves music, beaches, traveling, and spending time with her family. As our newest team member, she’s looking forward to her future growth and helping Velney Development reach its highest potential.
A Boston native born in Brooklyn, NYC, Giorsully Coriolan comes from a family that moved to the U.S. in 1980 in pursuit of the American dream. Growing up in this environment, he became fluent in Haitian Creole, helping bridge language barriers in real estate.

After completing high school in Boston, MA, Gio earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing & Communications from Johnson & Wales University (2012). While studying full-time, he worked as a Banker, developing a passion for real estate, investing, and underwriting. In 2014, he became a licensed agent and has since helped hundreds of families close on properties of all types and sizes.
With 11+ years in property management, he has overseen residential properties up to 400 units, including HOAs and income-based housing. Known for his attention to detail, professionalism, and client-first approach, Gio is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and expertise in every transaction.

Every great company has a niche. Velney Development is not different. Our company niche is being able to understand and control the construction process—everything we do starts and ends with construction in mind. When we analyze a project, we focus on value engineering, project estimates, and design for the end user.
Having a solid construction background is critical to our success. This is what separates us from other developers. This niche allows us to save our company money and investors’ money. Having the capability and the option of being our general contractor and (OPM) owner’s project Manager gives us more control over sub-contractor selections, vendor selections, project estimates, project schedule, project finance, and quality control.
Velney Development believes in generational wealth and improving our communities. We have found that building our rental portfolio is the best way to achieve this mission. We call this tactic build-to-rent. We love this tactic because it’s our leverage against the competition; it leads to low repair costs and new housing needed in the Boston market.
